Bloggers talk to me…

Hey Lovers,

Now I want to share and hear from you. What is it that makes you blog?

I dream of the day I can sit at a cafe in Paris or London with a coffee all curled up in the corner. Being able to call writing my deepest thoughts to millions as work. Well, that would be so incredible.

Writing for me is joy, I love the beauty in creating words that compliment each other. In this everchanging world, the ability to share my personality with so many people all over the globe is mind blowing. I can only describe it as a little bit of magic.

I hope and pray this dream comes true but for now I’m content with my little cubical on the internet where a few of you stop by for a chat.

Tell me your goals, dreams and blogging motivations!

January wrapped up

Hey Lovers,

Just like that the first month of the year is over.

I hope it was as kind to you as it was to me!

January taught me to experience EVERYTHING!

I travelled Europe, tried crazy food and even ventured as far as to get a tattoo! (SO NOT ME!!)

It taught me to follow my heart and pursue writing as a career – I’m going to study Journalism next year. This blog means more to me than you’ll ever know, the community that grows day by day on here makes me smile for hours!

I also learnt to breathe and enjoy my relationship, even taking the next step to plan moving out later this year…. it’s official guys!

I’m buying my first car in a few months so that’s also getting me very excited!

Lastly it taught me to be my own best friend, my own hype man and to always be my biggest supporter. This year is the year of change and God Damn I will smash every adventure, goal and challenge that comes my way.

I love you guys and want to support you as much as you support me, so how was your January and what are you going to achieve this year?

How to style by Pinterest

Hi Lovers,

Today i’m letting you in on my style plan.

Every season I sit down, get out my phone, and do the same thing to ensure I can remain fashionable all season long.

Pinterest my loves is key!!

Start by creating a board and giving the board a title – I usually just write the season and the year…. creative I know!

From here I jump onto the browse page and look at all the different trends that are up! Living in Australia, we generally get everything six months after the U.S and U.k! So by going on Pinterest, I get to pretty much see a preview of what will be coming to stores in a few months.

From here, once my board has a reasonable amount of pictures I’ll jump on sites such as ‘Missguided’, ‘Top-Shop’ etc and start buying their on sale items that are dupes for those I have on my Pinterest board! – They’re on sale as they are at the end of the season overseas.

Obviously, this can be reversed for those of you, not in Australia! So wanting swimwear for Summer or a summer dresses? Jump onto some aussie websites for some real steals. Eng ‘Princess Polly’ and ‘Showpo’

Let me know what you’re Pinterest are so I can give it a look!

How to find your blogging community

Hi Lovers,

I’m back again with some blogging advice.

To start off, NO I’m not your blogger with a 100,000 strong following but hey i’m someone that loves what they do, just like you! So here are some tips on what I have discovered about blogging.

I can’t tell you how many hours I have spent reading, commenting and trying to understand blogging….. alot of which just plain and simple does not work.

To find what really clicks with readers (no pun intended), is you need to give a variety of options. I will write blogs on travel, advice, fashion, life experiences and even came up with a series have called ‘ Basically Abroad’ which talks about my travel stories. I have found the blog posts that gain the most traffic are those that discuss blogging advice and those involving travel. After learning this I have made sure I allocate at least one or two posts on these topics a week. This really has helped me!

Another learning curve I had, And I know you won’t all like this… Is investing in your blog.

By this, I mean allowing yourself to commit in the way of presenting a professional website. I bought my theme off Creativemarket.com. On this site there are some very cheap and worthwhile themes, many of these are specifically made to adapt to mobile devices! Buying a theme has absolutely made me more committed, ait has also helped me to stand out from the crowd and really personalise my blog.

I have seen an 80% growth in my blog’s traffic since changing my theme, it also enables widgets which help increase traffic, clicks and encourages things such as subscriptions. I hope this helped lovers

(Let me know your tips and tricks too!!)

Beauty – Faking it is okay… Okay?

Hey Lovers,

Today I want to address something.

NoW I totally understand things like botched and how extreme, that those people are fighting something alot stronger than their looks. But also that it’s okay because they choose that and it makes them happy. I find in this world of Instagram and ‘selfies’ we all feel pressure to conform and the idea of beauty is always changing.

10 years ago, ‘THIC‘ wasn’t as appealing as it is now, and my big bum wasn’t on show but rather hidden. The phrase “Does my bum look big in this?” being the most common one while shopping. Things change, nothing is permanent!

I am a self-confessed fake tanner, I tan because it makes me feel more confident. I find daily, people approaching me telling me I should stop. I’m always asked if my skin colour is real etc and the list goes on.

I felt the need this morning after yet another person saying this, to come on here and say it’s OKAY! How do we live in a world of Instagram, Facetune and people are being shunned for fake tanning?

I’m here to tell you, YOU do YOU! Want fake lashes? – Go get them and have some bomb ass eyes! You want to fake tan? – Well God damn you look like a summer Goddess hun. Whatever it is, be you and love it.

I’m sick of being picked on for liking myself, and I may have fake lashes, fake tan and try every instagram ad under the sun but my personality is as real as can be.

Be your beautiful self girls and boys and don’t change for anyone,

All my love,

How to keep yourself motivated to blog for beginners

Hey lovers,

Today I’m going to hand out some real advice on blogging.

Now I personally totally get how disappointing it is to put all your energy into coming up with a kick ass post and then receiving low engagement.

I figured I would post an article and give out some of my own advice after reading so much of others!

First up, I know first hand how much it sucks to get the advice – iT TAKES TIME. Which yes, it’s true but also I’ve been blogging for two years with slow growth. I get it, it sucks. But what turned my view was, the realisation I blog for ME. I am here because it’s my thing, I love having people read my content and I love having a record of my thoughts. If I go back through my posts I can read back on some pretty significant moments, and the feelings i had in the moment. These posts detail breakups, adventures, new and old friendships and so much more. So again, I’m here for ME. I think that’s key.

Another piece of advice that I think helps is remembering to commit. Blogging is a unique hobby, it involves a-lot of time and energy. Quite frankly, if you don’t love it you won’t last. To gain followers, a good flow and grow your blog you have to show your readers you’re here for the long haul. To do this I suggest following a similar process to me. I set aside one or two afternoons a week where I write all my content and then schedule it for the coming days, I work on one post a day.

My final tip for now is, look at your locations! If 90% of your views are from the USA focus on scheduling posts that are most suited to their time. I generally post to UK time as they are my largest viewership. This works super well and helps for your post not to get lost in the sea of wordpress.

Now I won’t ramble on because if you’re anything like me you’ll want to get started!

Let me know how you go,

3 Break- Up rules to follow for a speedy recovery

Hey Lovers,

Now damn I’m sorry I know it must suck right now, trust me i’ve been there but hey I’m about to speed this up for you.

RULE #1 : Keep Busy

It may seem simple but honestly the more you leave your room, house or blanket cocoon the better. Being outside, it keeps you busy and naturally you are distracted. It really helped me, I kept my days full and by the time I got to bed at night I just crashed.

RULE #2: Take up a new hobby

It may sound silly, but putting a new passion in your life honestly feels like changing the batteries. You’re a new person!

Many of us become consumed in relationships, the other person is an extension of us. So when they aren’t there we become lost. So by giving yourself a new layer you start to feel yourself again. This new hobby could be as simple as going to the beach or gym, or as crazy as skydiving – you decide.

RULE #3 Delete and Forget

now I know this is a hard one, but it’s also the most important.

If you are done and I mean done. Delete and forget. You and I both know you’re gonna stalk the insta, facebook and Snap, so stop yourself. Delete them and block them! That includes their number – Let’s not give you the option to send that message you’re wanting to and wishing to receive. A good piece of advice to remember is, if you’ve had to go on a break it isn’t right. If someone needs/wants a break from you they are your person.

Okay my loves,

Remember I’m only a click away,
